In a heartwarming moment from Thailand, a baby elephant made sure a tourist couldn’t leave his side after she spent some time bonding with him before an elephant ride.

McMurry, a professional speaker and author, had traveled to the region for a day-long experience, which included riding bareback on an elephant.
The footage begins with the baby elephant resting on McMurry’s lap as she gently pets him.

When she tries to move, the calf, not ready to say goodbye, wraps his trunk around her leg, holding on tight.
As McMurry attempts to escape, the baby elephant playfully bites her foot and keeps it in his mouth, causing her to fall backward.
The mischievous calf doesn’t stop there—he climbs on top of her and wraps his small tusk around her neck. Amid laughter from her group, McMurry humorously asks, “What do I do?”

Reflecting on the experience, McMurry shared, “The elephant chosen for me was a new mother. I needed to get to know her calf before we began. As you can see, we got to know each other quite well.”
The northern jungles of Thailand are a popular destination for tourists seeking to see elephants in their natural habitat, offering experiences that create lasting memories, as McMurry’s encounter with the baby elephant shows.
