For around 30 minutes, Elle tried to stand, eventually succeeding with a little help from other animals nearby. The charming scene was filmed by safari guide Brendan Cole, who arrived shortly after Elle’s birth
“We got there minutes after the birth,” Brendan shared. “Elle was still lying on the ground while his mother covered them both in dust to hide the scent and protect against predators.”
During one attempt, Elle emitted a frustrated screech after a tumble, a sound that amused onlookers. At one point, Elle somersaulted forward, sparking laughter among the safari guests.
Brendan described the experience as one of his most cherished moments as a guide, saying, “Watching Elle’s first steps is something I’ll treasure forever.”
