While it’s unusual to see elephants lying flat on their sides, younger elephants often enjoy a full rest this way.
However, this baby elephant was more interested in playing than napping. He attempted to wake his brother by climbing on him, using his front legs.
When that didn’t work, he became more insistent, pushing and nudging his brother in hopes of starting some fun.
The older elephant, initially unfazed, finally sprang to his feet, clearly startled by his persistent sibling’s actions.
The cheerful moment contrasts with other scenes often witnessed on safari. For example, just last month, a group of tourists in the park experienced the more brutal side of nature when they saw a pride of lions hunt and kill a buffalo.
