Caring for playful young ones is challenging—even in the animal world. A heartwarming video from Borås Zoo in southern Sweden captures a young elephant who, in a spirited game, takes a tumble.
The little elephant can be seen joyfully chasing two flocks of quick-footed guinea fowl, determined to catch up despite the birds’ nimble moves. His persistence is clear as he runs in circles, though the lively chase soon leaves him visibly dizzy.
Eventually, the enthusiastic elephant stumbles and falls face-first onto the ground. His mother, who had been watching him closely from a distance, immediately steps in to ensure her baby is alright.
After a reassuring moment under his mom’s trunk, the tired young elephant decides it’s time for a break, following her to rest and save his bird-chasing ambitions for another day.
The short clip has since gone viral on Reddit, delighting thousands of viewers. One user shared their admiration, commenting, “Elephant moms are so attentive it just amazes me. And baby knew just where to go after going boom.”
